DirectGives is a new approach to touristic charity which is based on two core principles: direct giving and happy giving.
We promote direct giving in person from the contributors to the communities most in need with no intermediaries or overhead costs in any stage of the process. This ensures 100% of the proceeds are directly given in-person to those in need by the people making the contributions.
We believe that direct giving is a happy and deeply meaningful occurrence which should become the most enjoyable, significant and memorable part of any trip.
Our driver will pick you up from your location in the morning to visit a local wholesale market and purchase produce directly from merchants.
Once the purchase is complete our driver will take you to our local offices where you will ration the produce into packages ready to hand out to those in need.
With the packages completed our driver will take you to a local community in need where you will directly give the product to the local population.
Our guides will pick you up from your hotel and return you back to your hotel. You will travel to local markets where you will purchase products needed in the poorest communities directly from wholesale vendors. From the markets, you will head directly to give communities most in need. At no stage of this process will any funds go from you to DirectGives organization, all your contribution will go to those in need, all of the overhead costs including the drive, the guide, and anything else will be covered by DirectGives. The whole activity takes between 3 to 5 hours, depending on how deep your engagement is and how many products you decide to contribute.
